I am about halfway through my paralegal degree. A couple of days ago, out of the blue, I called and asked to speak to a paralegal at one of the more prominent ( but very small) firms in this area. ( A large firm in this area would be considered 4 or more attorneys
so...LOL BUT they are well known here) I had some school and employment related questions for her and then we got to talking about a possible internship, when I get closer to graduation. I am really excited because, while I make very good grades and all, my previous work history is not impressive and nowhere related to the law in any way. This paralegal advised me to get back in touch with her when I get closer to graduation and then take it from there. I so badly just want a chance at doing anything in the field I will volunteer as much time as possible there. I don't mind offering to work for free just to get my foot in the paralegal door. If I can I will keep my full time job and intern on my days off as well as do some of the work from home. Naturally, if they offer a paid internship, that actually pays something, then I would be all over that. Needless to say I am pretty excited about this opportunity and can only hope that it doesn't fall through later.
P.S. I am just sitting here suddenly remembering PH's post about the interns.
I swear and be damned miss PH, that I WOULD be a motivated and attentive and thankful and far from lazy intern that actually works !!
