Crazy Pills

At work again at The Death Star, only this time I think I might kill someone.

It would seem to me that when you sign to use the big conference room from 9am-12pm, you’d be done right around 12pm. and the next person after you, who is signed up from 12-3pm, could start around 12pm or so and not run over her time limit. Yes- I know that meetings sometimes run a little bit over, but seeing as how the Death Star is addicted to meetings, you would think they would run a tight ship about this.

It is currently way past noon, my Discovery needs to go out NOW and the Post-Judgment meeting is still going strong, with no end in sight.

Of course, I can’t have any Litigation attorney sign off on the Discovery until AFTER we have our meeting.

Once again, I think I am taking crazy pills.

We have the same issue in the corporate world. In fact, I had scheduled a room one time and waited about 5 minutes past my time before sticking my head in and asking the moderator to wrap it up as I needed the room and my people were waiting. She agreed. Ten minutes later she was still talking so I walked into the room and started setting up my stuff for my meeting. Then I “politely” told her that I need the room now for my meeting. She wrapped it up quickly after that. I now schedule meeting rooms for 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after my meeting time. So, if I need the room at 1:00, I schedule the room starting at 12:45. Have not had any problems since!

Of course, my reputation may now be proceeding me…..which would explain why the rooms are clearing out before I get there.
